We are looking for an inspiring and highly effective leader who will help achieve Cancer Focus NI’s mission and vision. The Chief Executive supports the Board in the development of the future strategy and operational plans to ensure the charity is resilient and responsive to the people it was set up to serve. The individual will be responsible for internal management of staff and resources. In addition, you will manage external stakeholder relationships, develop the profile of the organisation and ensure the provision of exemplary services.
Skills and Competencies:
You will have extensive experience of leadership and governance and be able to facilitate a culture of openness throughout the organisation. Leading on the development of the corporate and risk management strategies, you will ensure that resources are fully aligned to deliver on the charity’s aims and objectives.
With an aptitude for strategy and planning, you will be able to navigate the charity through an uncertain political and funding environment, identifying opportunities and barriers. You will be able to introduce new thinking to service provision that will increase the charity’s effectiveness.
As a manager, you will always put the charity’s beneficiaries first when it comes to service design. You will model a collaborative leadership style that embraces professionalism and instils a culture of inclusion that is supported by coaching and training.
As Chief Accounting Officer you will ensure the effective planning, management and reporting of Cancer Focus NI’s finances. Enhancing the charity’s sustainability, you will oversee and monitor an effective programme of income generation from a range of existing and new sources.
You will engage effectively with political decision-makers and extend Cancer Focus NI’s relationships across the public and private sectors, forging new connections with allies in the third sector. Acting as the principal ambassador for the charity, you will proactively ensure the good profile of Cancer Focus NI across Northern Ireland and beyond.
