Who We Are

As the UK’s leading diabetes charity, our strategy has two ambitions:

• We want people to live well and longer with diabetes and
• We want to cure or prevent diabetes.

We employ 400 staff across the UK managing a turnover of over £38m generated by our fundraisers, members and partners.  Last year, Diabetes UK volunteers dedicated an incredible 100,000 hours of their time to our common mission to beat the disease.  Those included hours donated by our volunteer Board members.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re keen to have a diverse and representative Board and so we are looking for you to  bring your own unique skillset and experience to Diabetes UK, along with the added insight of living in Northern Ireland.  At Board level, you will be complementing our fantastic team here, one that works with its colleagues across the UK and beyond to help create a revolution in understanding and support.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about our work, possess good independent judgement and who think strategically.  Potential candidates are likely to have gained and developed their skills, expertise, and experience through a variety of ways, and different disciplines, so we don’t want to be too prescriptive.
